On Tuesday, July 14, I had the privilege and honor of being one of the keynote speakers for New Season Treatment Center Ribbon Cutting Event. Thank you for your hard work and dedication! Your work will not only change lives; you are investing in strengthening families, improving public safety, and making our community stronger.

As a judge, I have a first-hand view of the devastating impact substance use disorders have. The justice system has an obligation to hold individuals accountable for their actions. Accountability is essential to maintaining public trust, protecting our communities, and upholding the rule of law. The courts, healthcare providers, law enforcement officers, treatment professionals, social service agencies, and community organizations each have a role to play. Lasting progress depends on collaboration and on our shared commitment to helping individuals move from addiction to recovery while preserving public safety and confidence in our justice system.
